Moscow, 26 May 2005. According to the Emergency Management Headquarters of RAO "UES of Russia", power has been restored to all consumers in the city of Moscow and the Moscow Region.
The HQ meeting noted the constructive character of interaction between the energy utilities and the authorities of the city of Moscow and the Moscow Region in coping with the consequences of the power outage. Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia", thanked the First Deputy Mayor of the Moscow City Vladimir Resin for his participation in the HQ activities.
He said the work done by OAO "Mosenergo", the System Operator, and the Federal Grid Company was "crucial" to eliminating the consequences of the power outage. The HQ gave the companies' teams the task to ensure, in conjunction with the Moscow city and regional authorities, uninterrupted power supply to consumers of all categories. Also, the companies were instructed to restore, as soon as possible, permanent power supply to the Moscow Oil Refinery, which is now supplied with power on a temporary basis.
The HQ also noted that there had been no sewage water discharges into the Moskva River.
