FETEC (Dalsvyaz) completed one of stages of data transmission reconstruction in Khabarovsk region on March 9, 2004. The project value was about 2 million dollars and the project lasted for a year.

Data transmission centers are installed in 8 ATXs and 11 remote hubs in Khabarovsk and Vyazemsk, Bikin, Sovetkaya Gavan, Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, Tritsky, Pereyaslavka, Vanino. Today launch of modernized data transmission network in Komsamolsk-on-Amur has preparatory stage.

Equipment is produced by Cisco Systems Inc. (USA). Specialists of the OJSC FETEC (Dalsvyaz) jointly with TechnoServ A/C assembled it. According to schedule the project will be completed in 2004.

Vladimir Kaspirovich, technical director of Company Khabarovsk branch say that today FETEC (Dalsvyaz) applies mass connection using xDSL (speed is up to 8 Mb/sec.). He said that such service is an absolute innovation for Khabarovsk region and before network construction only limited number of users could use xDSL Internet. Vladimir Kaspirovich mentioned that in contrast to dedicated line and dialup Internet the main advantage of xDS is high speed and quality.

Cost of xDSL connection in Khabarovsk region is 12,700 rubles with VAT (including cost of service device). Monthly fee for xDSL port including 200 Mb of incoming traffic is 440 rubles.
