Moscow, 2 March 2004. The earmarked investments of RAO "UES of Russia" for the year 2004 total RUB15.1 billion. In addition, it is planned to raise RUB6.56 billion in loans.
RUB20.82 billion will be used to complete the construction of the thermal and hydroelectric power plants. The top priority projects are Bureyskaya HPP (RUB8.35 billion in investments were allocated for the project in 2004, including the work in the inundation area, which makes 20% of the total amount invested in the power plant during the previous years), Kaliningradskaya CHPP-2 (RUB5.35 billion, which represents a twofold increase compared to the previous investments), Sochinskaya TPP (RUB3.4 billion, three times the amount previously invested in the project), Irganayskaya HPP (RUB1.35 billion), and Boguchanskaya HPP (RUB600 million). The Investment Program provides for RUB300 million in funds for the restoration of the energy facilities in the Republic of Chechnya.
RUB70 million have been allocated for research and development in 2004.
* The 2004 Investment Program of RAO "UES of Russia" does not cover the power grid facilities and the infrastructure of the UES System Operator – Central Dispatch Administration, as the respective investments were included in H2 2003, in the investment programs of OAO "Federal Grid Company" and OAO "UES SO-CDA".
