Effective October 1 and November 1, 2002 tariffs are set to go up for the local telecommunications services provided by 22 operators run by OJSC Svyazinvest. The respective decisions to index tariffs at an average of 18.7 percent for city households, 14 percent for organizations and 19.6 percent and 16.6 percent respectively for rural subscribers, were adopted by the Executive Board of the Anti-Monopoly Ministry of the Russian Federation (AMM RF) on September 11 and 25, 2002.
Effective October 1, 2002 there will be a tariff hike for the following subsidiaries of OJSC Svyazinvest: OJSC Bryansksvyazinform, OJSC Ivtelecom, OJSC Elektrosvyaz Kaluga region, OJSC Tambovelektrosvyaz, OJSC Svyazinform Penza region, OJSC Elektrosvyaz Rostov region, OJSC Svyazinform Chuvash Republic, OJSC Orenburg region, OJSC Svyazinform Republic of Mordovia, OJSC Khantymansiiskokrtelecom, OJSC Uraltelecom Sverdlovsk region, OJSC Dalsvyaz, OJSC Kamchatsvyazinform.
Subscribers are also hereby advised that effective November 1, 2002 there will be another round of tariff hikes applicable to local telecommunications services provided by the following operators: OJSC Elektrosvyaz Vladimir region, OJSC Southern Telecommunications Company, OJSC Elektrosvyaz Volgograd region, OJSC Kabbaltelecom, OJSC Krachaevo-Cherkesskelektrosvyaz, OJSC Yamalelektrosvyaz, OJSC Elektrosvyaz Omsk region, OJSC Elektrosvyaz Stavropol krai and OJSC MGTS.
For the record:
Under a resolution passed by the Anti-Monopoly Ministry of the Russian Federation the local telecom tariffs of 78 regional operators, run by the holding, were subject to indexation. From May to September 2002 there was another tariff hike which affected the subscribers of 48 Svyazinvest-run subsidiaries.
