The Delegation of the People's Republic of China was interested in details of the reform of the electric power industry of the Russian Federation and its consequences for the grid complex.

Today, on September 25, IDGC of North-West held a meeting of the company's top managers with representatives of the State Commission for Regulation of Electric Energy Industry of China.

The visit of the Chinese delegation was of awareness-raising nature. Its purpose was reception of the information from heads of IDGC of North-West about functions and features of activity of the interregional distribution grid company.

The meeting was opened by the presentation of Deputy General Director for Development and Services Selling of IDGC of North-West Alexander Mikhalkov.

He spoke on the structure of the distribution grid company and provided the Company's survey analysis of the main industrial and financial indicators.

"The electric grid complex is the basis of viability and development in the territory of the Russian Federation", Alexander Mikhalkov emphasized.

The representatives of the State Commission for Regulation of Electric Energy Industry of China said that they had received a great volume of helpful information. The People's Republic of China has been going through the process of scale reforming of the electric power industry since 2002. According to the representatives of the Chinese Delegation, the selected direction of development has much in common with the reform of the Russian Federation.

The reform of the electric power industry of the People's Republic of China will face division of the sector into generation, distribution and sales companies. For today, 5 generation, 2 grid and several nation-wide and regional structures have been spun off.

As a continuation of the meeting, the IDGC of North-West's top managers answered the questions of the Chinese delegation. The visitors from the People's Republic of China were interested in the scheme of interaction with the marketing companies, the organization of activity on technological connection and peculiarities of the tariff formation. The prospects of transition to the tariff formation under the RAB method were discussed.

The representatives of the State Commission for Regulation of Electric Energy Industry of China in detail considered organization of the Company's management and control, principles of formation of the IDGC North-West's managerial bodies of the IDGC North-West.

The information on subdivision of grids into federal and interregional distribution ones was of a special relevance for the Chinese delegation. 

The IDGC of North-West's top managers were interested in features of carrying out the reform of electric power industry in the People's Republic of China and influence of the crisis on development of the electric grid complex. The IDGC of North-West's representatives discussed methods of decrease in costs with the Chinese colleagues.
