On 24 September 2009 the OJSC North West Telecom welcomed its 10 000 th subscriber to the PON * technologies in St .- Petersburg . This person is Dr Alexander Drachuk who works in insurance business and has subscribed to the “ Avangard Trio +” packages based on the passive optical networks.

The tagline of the official ceremony held by the North-West Telecom was “Come and visit PON!" and this time it was held at the subscriber’s flat. Among those who came to congratulate the new subscriber were the deputy CEO and financial director of the OJSC NWT Oleg Popov , the head of the St .- Petersburg branch Viktor Plyachenko and the financial director of the St .- Petersburg branch Maxim Afanasiev.
