Vladimir Alexandrovich Akulich, General Manager of North-West Telecom, became the fifth best top manager in the “Communication” industry according to the “Top 1000 Russian Managers” rating of the Managers’ Association of Russia published September 21, 2007 in the Kommersant newspaper. 

Venera Khusnutdinova, Associate General Manager and Economy & Finance Manager of N.W.Telecom, was named among the ten best finance managers in the industry.

Oleg Popov, Associate General Manager and Business Manager of the Company, is among the ten best business (marketing) managers in the industry.

This joint project of the Managers’ Association of Russia and the Kommersant Publishing House has been published since 2001. This year, the core of the rating’s expert panel consisted of CEO’s and functional managers of Russian companies covered by the rating. Among the experts were also representatives of non-commercial industrial and regional business associations and unions. In all, nearly 400 experts were engaged in the rating. The total number of nominees considered for this year was 3,500.

The “Top 1000 Russian Managers” rating of the Managers’ Association is a tool for unbiased assessment of the professional reputation of Russia’s leading top managers; it sums up a year’s work, and identifies Russia’s most professional managers, leaders in their industries and functional sectors. The rating is addressed both to the business community and other concerned parties. It is actively used by business and specialized media and by Russian and international investors.

The rating is based on a simple and transparent method. Its core principle is “the best select the best”, which enables getting the most unbiased evaluation of a manager’s professional reputation. For a manager to be included on the list of nominees, the company headed by such manager has to be one of the largest in the scope of services provided and to belong to an industry with a sizeable input in GDP.

When voting for a nominee, the votes given in favor of one’s own company representatives were not considered. Therefore, the results of the published TOP indicate that the broad public recognizes not only the scale and importance of N.W.Telecom, but also the high professional qualities and reputation of its key top managers.
