The cost estimate of the substation and the overhead lines accounted for RUR 474.4 million.

On September 14, 2009 “Novgorodenenrgo” branch of IDGC of North-West puts into operation one of its major investment projects – “Yuzhnaya” substation of 110/10 kV. New power object is located in the area of airfield in the village of Yurievo.

The construction of “Yuzhnaya” substation is determined by the scheme of the future oriented development of the electric grids of 35-110 kV of “Novgorodenenrgo” till 2015. The scheme was worked out as a result of the constant joint work of the branch of IDGC of North-West with the Administration of the Novgorod region over the plan of power system development taking into account the future-oriented development of the territory.

The basis for carrying out of the implementation of this investment project was the joint decision concerning the increase of the reliability of power supply of the city water treatment plant, Pskov residential neighborhood and electrification of the major land plot in the district of Yurievo for the future oriented residential construction.

The construction of 110/10 kV “Yuzhnaya” substation of 12 km length allowed to increase the reliability of power supply scheme of the southern part of Velikiy Novgorod due to the redistribution from substation “Bazovaya”.

The transition of the part of load to substation “Yuzhnaya” will allow carrying out the complete reconstruction of substation “Bazovaya”.

New power block of “Novgorodenenrgo” represented the modern power technical complex made of the best equipment of native and foreign production. Two transformers of 40 MVA were installed at the new substation as well as distribution devices of 110 kV and 10 kV with SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers. The relay automated protection of “Yuzhnaya” substation was carried out of the microprocessor devices.

The cost estimate of the power objects (of substation and overhead power transmission lines) accounted for RUR 474.45 million.
