The section of the transmission line of Heat Power Plant-2 – Heat Power Plant-3 of the voltage of 110 KV located over the railway bridge across the Volga River was assembled in 1962 on special overhanging designs with horizontal wires. The operation in the region with a complex wind and ice-covered ground situation, with a strong vibration caused by railway traffic resulted in damage of the polymeric insulation and steel section of the wire. In the framework of the restoration project replacement of the wire and hanging insulation is being done and a new wire AS 185/29 and modern hanging glass insulators PSV 120 are being mounted. At present, work on the restoration of the 1st section of the transmission line has been completed and work on the 2nd section has begun. Work completion is scheduled for November of the current year.
