In 2016, the repair campaign of Penzaenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) is nearing completion. As of beginning of September, the repairs of 760 km of overhead lines 35-110 kV and 3,360 km of overhead lines 0.4-10 kV were completed. The repair works comprised replacement of about 1,500 wooden and concrete supports, 13,000 line insulators, and over 60 km of electric wires.

Besides, the power engineers of the branch repaired 926 transformer substations 6/10-0.4 kV and 48 transformer substations of 35-110 kV. The repair works carried out at the substations of 35-110 kV comprised overhaul of switches, isolating switches, disconnecting switches and short-circuit switches.

The current works comprise clearing of power transmission lines fire-breaks from trees and bushes.

The repair campaign is an annual undertaking of all branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC including Mordovenergo, Orenburgenergo, Penzaenergo, Chuvashenergo, Samara DG, Ulyanovsk DG and Saratov DG.

These repair operations are carried out to ensure appropriate safety level of electrical transmission equipment, provision of uninterrupted power supply for consumers, and prevention of faults and failures in the performance of electrical installations.
