Last year a number of changes occurred in the company's charter capital. First of all, the total number of accounts in the shareholders roster decreased 2% and stood at 2,336 units at the end of 2001. Considering the fact that this number dropped 10% during the previous year, this points to a slowdown in the decrease of shareholders. This process holds true both for shareholders which are legal entities and those which are private individuals. Moreover, compared to 2000 there has been a widening number of outgoing foreign legal entities. Accordingly, their share in charter capital declined from 6.36% to 1.05%.
The number of private shareholders is also down year-on-year by 1% (compared to 2000 when this index was down 20%) or 31 accounts, standing at 2,272 as of January 1, 2002. The proportion of individuals holding shares in the company's charter capital was 22.27%.
Overall, more than 3/4 of the company's charter capital was owned by Russian legal entities (76.68%), while 1.05% was held by foreign legal entities.
