Ulyanovskbranch of Rosseti Volga, PJSC completed preparation of power grid facilities for the period of low temperatures. Since the beginning of the year, all planned repairs have been fully completed at the branch’s power facilities.

During the period of the 2020 repair campaign, power engineers paid special attention to equipment that provides power supply to strategically important and socially important facilities. Repairs were made to 29 35–110 kV substations, 676 6–10/0.4 kV transformer substations, as well as 10 110 kV circuit breakers.

As part of the repair measures on overhead power transmission lines (OL), the branch specialists performed a set of works on replacing defective insulation, installing vibration dampers on wires, repairing and replacing contact connections, repairing the overhead part of foundations and straightening reinforced concrete supports, restoring the anti-corrosion coating of equipment, updating the ground loop, updating information and hazard signs. In total, 1,725.1 km of 0.4–10 kV power transmission lines and 1,008.8 km of 35–110 kV high-voltage lines were repaired this year.

In order to reduce the risk of possible technological violations, as well as to avoid fire hazardous situations in forest areas, power engineers cleared more than 526 hectares of overhead lines of various voltage classes. Clearing glades allows us to easily carry out repair work and equipment maintenance, thereby increasing the reliability of the power grid and ensuring a stable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers.

Timely and high-quality implementation of the repair campaign measures contributes to an increase in the reliability of the operation of power facilities and the successful passage of the winter maximum load, when the power grid infrastructure operates at low temperatures, and electricity consumption increases significantly.
