In 2020, power engineers of Rosseti Volga (a brand of IDGC of Volga, PJSC) will continue working to improve environmental safety and the rational use of natural resources. The company's specialists will carry out a whole range of technical and organizational measures in the field of atmospheric air protection, rational use of water and land resources, as well as the protection of the animal world.
In accordance with the Environmental Policy, power engineers will equip overhead power transmission lines and outdoor switchgears of substations with bird protection devices (BPD). Branches of Rosseti Volga will install over 56 thousand BPDs. A significant part of them will appear in the Ulyanovsk, Orenburg and Saratov regions.
To reduce the negative environmental impact during the construction and reconstruction of power transmission lines, power engineers plan to use a self-supporting insulated wire, which not only has a number of technical advantages, but also eliminates the death of birds and reduces the area of clearings clearing. In total, about 427 km of such a wire will be replaced.
In addition, environmentalists of Rosseti Volga have planned activities for the disposal of waste, production environmental control and internal environmental audits at the company’s branches.
In total, environmental protection costs in 2020 will amount to over 1.2 billion rubles.
Recall that in 2019 the Rosseti Volga environmental management system was recognized as meeting the requirements of international standards ISO 14001:2015 and its national equivalent GOST R ISO 14001-2016. Independent experts praised the effectiveness of the company's environmental management system, a risk-based and process approach in managing the electric grid. In particular, the positive experience of the company in conducting industrial environmental control, monitoring and analysis of environmental measures, as well as compliance with environmental legislation, was noted.
