On April 6, 2007, Seoul hosted a meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Lee Soo Ho, President & Chief Executive Officer of KOGAS Korea Gas Corporation.
The parties discussed the prospects in relation to mutual cooperation in executing the Intergovernmental Agreement of cooperation in the gas sector. Special attention was paid to issues relevant to provide fastest supply of Russian natural gas to Korea.

The Government of the Russian Federation identified Gazprom as a coordinator to execute the Program on setting up an integrated gas production, transmission and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia Pacific countries.
The Intergovernmental Agreement of cooperation in the gas sector signed on October 17, 2006, appoints Gazprom and KOGAS to be authorized organizations to implement the Agreement on Russian gas deliveries to the Republic of Korea.
