“It coincides with our vision of the company’s role in the territory”, pointed out the General Director IDGC of North-West.

According to his words the decrease of power consumption in the regions is not equal. “It especially can be noticed in the territories where there are a lot of export oriented enterprises. The decrease there accounts for 25%. Among such regions are: the Vologda Region and the Republic of Karelia. The decrease in Komi is not that much considerable. It accounts for 5-7 per cent of the formed balance,” mentioned Alexander Markovich.

2009 Komienergo investment program was made up in accordance with crisis realia. The correction accounted for almost RUR 290 million. This year, Komienergo invests RUR 502 million into electric grid economy.

As Alexander Kukhmay said even the rest amount accounts for more than 20 per cent of all the investment program of IDGC of North-West, JSC. “In other branches we cut off the investment program more considerably. We left only the objects which are exceptionally necessary to ensure this minimum development which we have today”, he pointed out.

Despite the slight decrease of the investment program, Komienergo is ahead in the implementation of first and foremost measures directed to the construction and reconstruction of objects determined by the agreement signed between the Republic of Komi and RAO UES of Russian in April of 2008.

“The investment program which we formed in the Republic of Komi is slightly higher than was determined by the agreement between RAO UES of Russia and the Republic of Komi. Komi is one of the few regions where the investment program is implemented almost in full. But this is not the program that we would like to implement in the republic”, explained Kukhmay. According to his words, the reason is the lack of financial resources. “Credits are very expensive today and we can not afford ourselves big credits for the implementation of the investment projects. But we chose the pragmatic approach to solve this question - if there is the decrease of power consumption, the necessity in new capacities also decreases, that’s why we will work for the future only within the limits and in the amounts which we can afford”, said he.

Ivan Medvedev, the Director of Komienergo branch of IDGC of North-West, JSC thinks that the corrected program is a very realistic one. “Despite the difficult situation, I am sure that we will implement it in full. Moreover, I hope that the decrease of power consumption will become slower and the situation will be stable soon and than comes growth. And we will have the possibility to increase the amount of investments,” noted Ivan Vladimirovich.

“We call this year the “year of planning”, added Ivan Medvedev, the Head of Komienergo. “We will design the construction of the line to Izhma. Besides, we plan to locK the ring around Syktyvkar which will increase the reliability of power supply of Komi capital”.

According to the results of meeting for the republican mass media Ivan Pozdeev, Deputy Head of Komi, noted that productiive interaction exists today between the company and region.”Now Vladimir Torlopov, Head of Komi, noted that he is happy with such relations. We would like to work with power engineers as productively as we do”, noted Ivan Pozdeev.

It should be mentioned that it was the first meeting of IDGC of North-West, JSC General Director with the Head of Komi Republic. Alexander Kukhmay was satisfied with the results of the meeting. “It was the easiest meeting among those I had with the Governor. Because we have here fewer problems and well understand our role and the tasks we are to solve. I shall say that the Government of the Republic takes all the necessary measures for the development of the region. It coincides with our vision of the companies in the territory. We also think that infrastructure shall meet the needs of the region, that’s what we are aiming at”, added up General Director.
