Moscow, 23 March 2007. RAO "UES of Russia" and the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Russian Federation have signed a Cooperation Agreement. The parties have agreed to join efforts to develop and improve the activities aimed at assuring uniformity of measurements in the electricity industry and at expanding cooperation in the area of metrology with the major international organizations.

Moreover, RAO UES personnel and the Agency's experts will carry out joint certification of the metering methods, including those intended for use in technical regulations. The Agreement also provides that efforts will be stepped up to develop an optimal structure for the metering service in the electricity industry, as well as to produce the relevant regulations.
