Marat Ishmiyarov, Salavatnefteorgsintez’s General Director and Rosario Alessandrello, Technimont’s President signed a Contract on the construction of a suspension polyethylene production line within Salavatnefteorgsintez.
The signing ceremony was attended by Murtaza Rakhimov, President of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Alexander Ryazanov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Salavatnefteorgsintez’s Board of Directors’ Chairman as well as by representatives of Salavatnefteorgsintez and Technimont.
“Salavatnefteorgsintez is one of the leading Russian petrochemical companies. Commissioning a new Salavatnefteorgsintez’s production line will enable us not only to produce the feedstock indispensable for domestic consumers but will enlarge the company’s export capacity,” – pointed out Alexander Ryazanov while greeting the participants.

The Salavatnefteorgsintez company (known as the Petrochemical Integrated Complex N18 until 1993) was incorporated back in 1948, when the city of Salavat was being built.
Salavatnefteorgsintez’s promoter was the State Property Management Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan, owning 53.92% of the company’s ordinary voting shares transferred to Gazprom’s trust management under the Agreement dated 21 March 2003.
Salavatnefteorgsintez’s major business lines are production and marketing of refined products, petrochemicals and fertilizers (a total of over 70 items), including gasoline, diesel fuels, kerosene, furnace fuel oils, toluene, liquefied gases, butyl spirits, ammonia, carbamide, polyethylene, polystyrene, sulfur, a wide range of plastic consumer goods and a lot of other things.
In 2004, the Technimont Engineering Company won a tender to develop the Project, supply and assemble equipment for a suspension polyethylene production line to be built within Salavatnefteorgsintez. The new suspension polyethylene production line will use state-of-the-art technologies meeting world standards. The construction is expected to last 3 years. In 2006, the production line capacity will amount to 120 thousand tons of suspension polyethylene per year. For the time being, suspension polyethylene is not produced in Russia.
