Moscow. 10 January 2008. Today, at 01:06 a.m. Moscow time, Unit 5 was brought on line at the Surgutskaya TPP-2 of "OAO WGC-4". Thus, five of the power plant's six units are currently in operation, with the plant fully meeting the dispatching schedule for electricity generation.
Today, OAO "UES SO-CDA" plans to terminate the "high-risk situation" in the Tyumen Energy System. The high-risk situation was announced on 4 January 2008 because the roof above the turbine department of the Surgutskaya TPP-2 had been partially damaged and the plant's electricity generation fell. Thanks to the prompt action of the energy companies' personnel, unit 4 was put into operation on 8 January. During the whole period, units 1, 2 and 3 operated in the regular mode.
The accident did not have an adverse impact on the reliability of the Tyumen Energy System. There are no limitations of electricity supply or power blackouts. Currently, a special commission is investigating into the causes of the accident at the Surgutskaya TPP, and restoration efforts are underway.
