Moscow, 28 January 2008. RAO "UES of Russia" has been given a 50.0 score in the Accountability Rating, an international Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Rating, which is the best result achieved by a Russian company. The Company's score is equal to that of Ford, Nestle, and Toshiba.
The CSR Rating draws on information from public sources and helps gauge the transparency of companies' social and environmental performance, as well as their readiness for dialogue with society.
It rates companies on four 'domains': corporate strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, and impact on their areas of presence.
In 2007, the first Accountability Rating 2007 for Russia was released. The Rating is based on the survey of Russia's top 50 companies conducted by AccountAbility, an international think-tank, and its Russian Partner, Delovaya Kultura International Projects Bureau.
According to the Rating organizers, RAO "UES of Russia" has demonstrated close attention to managing the social aspects of the Parent Company and its subsidiaries' activities and the development of non-financial reporting, which resulted in the top position occupied by RAO "UES of Russia" on Russia's Accountability Rating.
