Moscow, September 25, 2007. The tender for making a contract for development of the investments substantiation (pre-feasibility study) for the Project of Construction of Kambaratinsk HPP-1 and HPP-2 recognized as failed.
This decision was unanimously taken by Tender Committee at the meeting held on Monday in Moscow. Such a decision was reasoned by incompliance of particular provisions of the participants’ applications with requirements imposed by the tender documents.
The Tender was announced late in May and has been held in compliance with the resolutions passed at the intergovernmental level by Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. To organize it, a simple partnership was set up, to comprise JSC INTER RAO UES, OJSC Elektricheskiye Stantsii (Republic of Kyrgyzstan) and JSC KazKuat (Republic of Kazakhstan). At that JSC INTER RAO UES represents the entire holding RAO UES of Russia and performs the functions of the Tender organizer.
Each country has appointed 3 representatives which comprise the Tender Committee. The representative of JSC INTER RAO UES is the Chairman of the Committee.
Two applications have been submitted in the course of the tender. One has been submitted by Canada's SNC-LAVALIN INTERNATIONAL INC.; the other - by the UK's Mott MacDonald Limited.
In the near future members of the particular partnership in the structure of JSC INTER RAO UES, OJSC Elektricheskie Stantsii and JSC KazKuat will start preparation of a new tender.
