Moscow, 6 November 2008. As part of the Russian-Italian summit taking place in Moscow, OJSC INTER RAO UES and Italia's genco Enel have executed a memorandum of intent on cooperation designed to promote joint projects in the electric power sector.

The document, which has been signed today, provides for joint activities between Enel and INTER RAO UES to implement electric power projects both within the Russian Federation and abroad.

Under the memorandum, the parties are expected to set up a joint task force to explore possible avenues for cooperation and to coordinate efforts when implementing specific projects.

In particular, this covers joint commercial and investment projects of Enel and INTER RAO UES in Russia and other countries in the area of nuclear and conventional generation, exchange of advanced technologies in the area of power-saving and innovation, exchange of information and practices to ensure a reliable supply of fuel for power generation assets in Russia and the CIS.
