Moscow, 01 October 2008. On 1st October 2005 the electric power market of Orel Region saw the start of independent trading by a branch of INTER RAO UES.
From day one, the Orel Branch has been focusing on providing a reliable and sustainable supply of electric power for consumers, and in the space of three years it has proved itself capable of delivering an uninterrupted supply of electric power to the region.
Today the Orel Branch of OJSC INTER RAO UES provides over 35% of the region's power consumption. It has an extensive service network, with a branch office virtually at every district centre in Orel Region.
The OJSC INTER RAO UES branch provides power for over 194 thousand households and over 4 thousand companies. The branch's customers are households, the region's major manufacturers, state-financed organizations and public sector.
At year-end 2007, the OJSC INTER RAO UES Orel branch's productive supply to its own customers was 642 mln kWh, with sales totalling over 1.2 bln rubles.
