St. Petersburg, April 17, 2008. Severo-Zapadnaya TETs reached target capacity, having brought the station's two power-generating units on stream at the same time. This became possible as a result of an agreement reached between RAO UES of Russia and Gazprom regarding extra deliveries of gas to the cogeneration plant.
The agreement regarding deliveries of gas to Severo-Zapadnaya TETs was reached in the course of a meeting attended by the representatives of Gazprom and RAO UES of Russia. The Gas Supply Memorandum was signed by Boris Vainzikher, member of the Management Board and technical director of RAO UES of Russia, and Kirill Seleznyov, member of the Gazprom Management Board and Director General (CEO) of Mezhregiongaz.
Extra quantities of gas will be supplied under short-term contracts at wholesale prices set in compliance with the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation of May 28, 2007 No 333.
According to Oleg Khotchenkov, acting general director of Severo-Zapadnaya TETs, the provision of the plant with fuel in the required quantity has been made possible as a result of concerted efforts by the management of RAO UES of Russia, JSC INTER RAO UES and Mezhregiongaz. In the course of preparations for the operation at target capacity, the station's management produced a request for extra quantities of gas required for the cogeneration plant and sent it to Mezhregiongaz. The scale of the station's gas consumption was coordinated in early April, and the technicians of Severo-Zapadnaya TETs successfully brought two power-generating units on stream at the same time today, 3 pm.
