April 14, 2008. On Monday JSC INTER RAO UES and the Serbian state-controlled electricity monopoly EPS (Electric Power Industry of Serbia) signed a Protocol on Strategic Partnership. The Protocol was signed during the visit of Evgeny Dod, Director General of the Russian company, to Belgrade.    

The document confirms that the interest of both parties lies mainly in the field of construction of new thermal plants and hydropower stations and in the sphere of modernization of the existing generation facilities located in Serbia.

Within 30 days since the Protocol has been signed by the parties, EPS will provide JSC INTER RAO UES with the final list of possible projects. After that, within two months, the Russian company will select several projects in which it is willing to be involved. 

A joint working group to consider the projects will be created in a week.
