Moscow, 8 April 2008. Russia’s JSC INTER RAO UES and France’s EDF have signed in Moscow the contract for development of the investments substantiation for the project of construction of Kambaratinsk HPP-1 and HPP-2 in the Kyrgyz Republic. In late December 2007 EDF and PriceWaterHouseCoopers were declared the winner of the tender for concluding this contract. Canada's SNC-LAVALIN INTERNATIONAL INC and the UK's Mott MacDonald Limited also participated in the tender. EDF offered a total of 73 819 485 RUB (VAT excluded).
According to the signed contract EDF specialists shall complete their work on investment substantiation in spring 2009.
The tendering procedure for development of the investments substantiation for Kambaratinsk HPP-1 and HPP-2 construction project was held in compliance with the resolutions passed at the intergovernmental level by Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. To organize it, a simple partnership was set up, to comprise JSC INTER RAO UES, OJSC Elektricheskiye Stantsii (Kyrgyz Republic), and JSC KazKuat (Republic of Kazakhstan).
