In the finest sense of the word. This time we reached 8848 ?…
In Spring 2004 the team of Russian climbers "Everest – North Face" made the first ascent of the Mt Everest's North Face (8848 m) via the center, that is considered to be the hard route. On the picture you can see Pavel Shabalin and Ilyas Toukhvatullin with Kazan Helicopters' flag. This group first ascended to the peak. That happened on 30 May 2004 at 10 o'clock in the morning. The expedition overcame all the difficulties: stone-falling, snow-slips, dust flows, avalanche, even the falling empty oxygen cylinders, that were thrown by alpinists going to the peak on the classical route.
With all our heart we congratulate all the expedition members with this achievement! And we thank for doing the honour to bring to the globe's highest point on the most difficult route company's symbol.
We take proud that since November 1993 the Mi-17-1V helicopters are used by Russian and foreign expeditions during climbing this and other summits in Nepal.
