LUKOIL and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) have approved a joint plan of actions for 2017, as part of a cooperation agreement. The roadmap was signed by Gleb Ovsyannikov, Head of Public Relations at LUKOIL, and Alexey Knizhnikov, WWF-Russia’s Head of Program on the Fuel and Energy Complex’s Environmental Policies. The event took place at a roundtable discussion, “Small Indigenous Groups of the North: Interaction with Industrial Corporations. Environmental and Social Responsibility”, held at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
Also delivered at the roundtable was a presentation on the interaction between LUKOIL and the indigenous population of the North. A corporate brochure, “Preserving Traditions of the North”, was presented.
LUKOIL has been providing charity support to the people of the Far North for twenty years. The company assists with construction of essential social infrastructure facilities, supports entrepreneurial initiatives and projects intended to preserve the authentic local culture. The company also helps to develop environmental programs.
